If you are going to be a coastal community… having a lighthouse is good… but having a bay with a bridge is even better.

In addition to tourism… Newport is known for it’s fishing fleet, as well as the Hatfield Marine Science center… which is at the forefront in Marine Research.

Many people come to this area for the weekend… or even just to spend the day walking the bayfront.

If you like crab… you can easily catch crab off of the public dock… or from along the shoreline. Just need a crab ring, some bait, and a little time to kill.
