Tablet PCs with EMS Pro
Paper charts are so “old technology”.
Gone for good are the “press hard, your making multiple copies”… never ending hand cramps… figuring out how to add a sentence you left out, after completing your narrative.
I have been lucky… my last two employers have both had digital charting programs. My last employer, it was a computer at the hospital.
My current employer takes that one step further… with a tough tablet PC we get to take with us on the road.

We run EMS Pro charting software, and once you’ve tried computer documentation… trust me, you will never look back! Heck… we even get patient signatures right on the computer.
Ever have a 911 to a care facility, only to realize you will be taking this person back later on? (Usually O’Dark Thirty).
No sweat… the computer keeps your first patient report in it… select “new from” when starting your return transport… and PRESTO!… all of the patient data (name, address, meds, hx, etc…) are instanty on your new chart.
Try doing that with a paper chart!
