Vacations & Sabbatical

EMT-Paramedic VacationOur vacation time ranges from 2 to 10 shifts per year, depending upon your length of service with the company.

Vacation days are paid out exactly like your regular shift… i.e. 8hrs of straight time followed by 16hrs of OT.

The great part about our 24on/48off schedule is that it only takes one vacation day to get 5 days off in a row.

So… a person who is getting 6 vacation shifts per year, could have Six 5-day vacations, if they planned it right.

Another perk with our company is a one month Sabbatical, which you receive after your 15-year anniversary with the company. Basically, you get a full one-month paid vacation, in addition to your normal accrued vacation, as a way of saying “thanks” for your dedication to the company.

I have been with this employer for 7 years now, and have personally seen two medics earn and take their month long Sabbatical.

Very cool… just 8 more years and I get mine!
